Imagine MATHILDE alive in this time, with all the socials. She probably would have an account called Super Pussy, an icon of fashion. I painted her as a beautiful natural woman, without her mask of make-up. At the background the dark clouds caracteristic to Karel Willink, gathering over her life. The clock, the palette form a kind of halo, like becoming a patron saint of painters.
